This is, after all, what cinema was made for.” I think this is what to say all about  ”AVATAR“. It’s an American 3-D science fiction epic film written and directed by James Cameron. This film focuses on an epic conflict on Pandora, an inhabited Earth-sized moon of Polyphemus. The film’s title refers to an avatar, a 3-D representation of a real person in a virtualized world.

The story takes us to AD 2154, where the character Jake Sully, a former US marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program (due to his genes being identical to those of his late twin brother, Tony, who was supposed to go), which will enable him to walk. He travels to Pandora, a lush and sentient-inhabited satellite of Polyphemus, 4.3 light years from Earth. Pandora is filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. This world is also home to the Na’vi, a sentient humanoid race, who are considered primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. They live in harmony with their world.

As humans encroach deeper into Pandora’s forests in search of valuable minerals to remedy a crisis on Earth, the Na’vi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence. Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake will be able to walk again. Sent deep into Pandora’s jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora’s beauties and dangers. There he meets a young Na’vi female, Neytiri. Over time, Jake integrates himself into the Na’vi clan, and begins to fall in love with Neytiri. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth and the Na’vi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of Pandora.

Anyone with an interest in films and filmmaking will appreciate what writer-director James Cameron has achieved. “Avatar” is not such a fresh story. Actually it’s quite old: boy meets girl, adapts to the ways of her tribe, must choose between the girl and his mission.What is astonishing is the look of “Avatar”. Cameron and crew, with hundreds of millions of dollars in CGI tricks, have created another world: the planet Pandora, occupied by the Na’vi, nine-foot blue human-hybrids with tails who share the forest with a fantastical collection of creatures, plants, and insects.

The finalists included the likes of Hollywood superstars Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson, singers Rihanna and Madonna, Bollywood superstars like Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu, supermodels like Adriana Lima and Gisele Bundchen, amongst several other sexy and successful women in the world. The Global Winner was Transformers star Megan Fox who came second in the poll, while the vivacious Kareena Kapoor was third closely followed by the beautiful Deepika Padukone and sexy Bipasha Basu in the fourth and fifth slot.

Katrina Kaif (born July 16, 1984) is a model and Bollywood actress.Her mother is English and her father is an NRI originally from Kashmir. She was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Hawaii and London. Filmmaker Kaizad Gustad discovered Katrina in London and gave her a part in his film Boom. It wasn’t long before the acting bug bit Katrina who decided to take it up full time and move permanently to Mumbai. With her attractive features, Katrina was offered a number of modeling assignments.

However, filmmakers were at first hesitant to sign her because of her linguistic shortcomings, such as her inability to speak Hindi. Aishwarya Rai or Aishwarya Bachchan is an internationally renowned Indian actress. Before starting her acting career, she worked as a model, and gained fame after winning the Miss World contest in 1994.

Often touted as the most beautiful woman in the world, Rai made her movie debut in Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film, Iruvar . She had her first commercial success in the Tamil movie Jeans (1998), and came to the attention of Bollywood in the Hindi movie, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Her performance in the film won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award, and she successfully performed in Bhansali’s next project, Devdas (2002), for which she won her second Best Actress Award at the Filmfare.
