The Malakkarethu House is the best homestay for visitors to the Maramon Convention. Located at Aranmula, it is a short ride away from the convention center at Maramon in Pathanamthitta. The convention usually happens around February, every year. It is reputed to be the largest Christian convention in Asia. During this time the world’s leading religious thinkers and Christian scholars come to Maramon.
The convention happens on the banks of the sands of the Pampa River and close to the Kozhencherry Bridge. The event is organized by the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association which is the missionary wing of the Mar Thoma Church in Kerala.
Staying at the Malakkarethu House provides a heavenly experience of being one with nature for the visitors to the convention. Here the environment is cool with the walls made of mud. The floors are of traditional clay tiles.

The garden outside has numerous potted flowering plants including hibiscus, jasmine, crepe jasmine etc. A Butterfly Garden is being set up at the Malakkarethu House to invite the beauteous guests.
